Who we are
Lenis is an open-source project by darkroom.engineering. For anything about your data, email clement@lenis.dev.
Newsletter
When you subscribe we store your email address, your subscription status and your country, which we work out from your IP address at signup. If we don't have it yet, we fill it in the first time you open a lenis.dev link from the newsletter, since those links carry your subscriber ID. We don't keep the IP address itself. Until then, our overall stats may estimate it from your email domain (like .fr), without storing that guess.
We use this to send the weekly Lenis Showcase email and to see roughly where our readers are. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the emails and clears your country. We keep your address marked as unsubscribed unless you ask us to delete it.
Showcase submissions
When you submit a website we store its URL, title, the credits you enter and your email. Accepted submissions are published on the showcase with their credits. We only use your email about your submission, or for the newsletter if you tick that box.
Sponsor inquiries
The sponsor form sends your name, email, company and message to our team so we can reply.
Analytics and cookies
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure page speed. They don't use cookies or follow you across other sites. We don't set any tracking cookies.
Why we can use it
We send the newsletter because you asked for it (your consent). Country stats, analytics and replying to submissions and inquiries rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.
Who handles it
Vercel hosts the site and runs analytics, Resend delivers the newsletter, Slack receives sponsor inquiries, and subscribers and submissions are stored in our PocketBase database. Some of these providers are based in the United States.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing clement@lenis.dev. If you're in the EU or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this changes we'll update this page and the date at the top.
